_Marvolo Gaunt's ring is a Gaunt family heirloom: a gold ring with a simple stone, which Marvolo Gaunt believed to be the Peverell seal. According to Marvolo, this proved the Gaunts' kinship with the most ancient wizarding family (in fact, it was the sign of the Deathly Hallows). After Marvolo's death, the ring passed to his son Morfin, from whom it was stolen by Tom Riddle in the summer of 1943. Having killed his father's entire family before this, Voldemort makes a Horcrux out of the ring, which in fact turned out to be the most powerful. The Horcrux was destroyed by Albus Dumbledore with the sword of Gryffindor in July 1996, at the cost of his health._ This is a resource pack for the totem of undying.
