Replaced YOSBR with Config Manager

YOSBR has been replaced with Config Manager. Config Manager is nice because it has a better folder name ("modpack_defaults" rather than "YOSBR", which is more indicative to the user of what it's supposed to do), and because it has a feature that lets the user easily overwrite or entirely reset their config folder with the modpack defaults, which can help in the case of a corrupted instance or if you just want a fresh start. This is only accessible through Mod Menu, so...

Mod Menu

Mod Menu has been added to Adrenaline based on community vote in our Discord. The reasoning behind this is because it's a mod that basically 90% of Adrenaline users and modpack creators install anyway, and it allows the user to access Config Manager's features. It's also just really nice to have so that you can edit mod configurations to your liking.

This technically goes against Adrenaline's "no QoL mods" approach, but I think this is probably the only case where it's perfectly acceptable to have. It's not going to decrease performance or anything, and I've intentionally configured it so that it's out of your way (update check is off, and button type is set to "icon" so that it doesn't shift around menus and it's just a small button on the main menu).

Ixeris

Ixeris has been added to Adrenaline as buffered raw input (Windows only) is now enabled by default and considered stable. This mod can have a noticable improvement in performance when using a mouse with a very high polling rate. See the mod page for more info. Please let us know if Ixeris causes any issues for you.

Highlights

Crash Assistant

Crash Assistant has been added to Adrenaline. It helps the user when experiencing a crash with log analysis. It also allows the user to click one button to upload multiple different logs (like crash_report and latest log) to mclo.gs at once, along with a button that lets the user easily join the Discord server and get help with their issue. It also shows a warning to the user when they are on an integrated GPU, or are using microcode known to have critical stability bugs. It also lets you easily share what you've changed from Adrenaline's default mod list to make support easier for us.

But wait, isn't this a QoL mod?

Technically, yes. However, it should not affect the actual game during runtime at all.

The reasoning for adding this to Adrenaline is because I added CA to Additive a few weeks ago, which I noticed heavily increased the amount of support posts and bug reports in our server. It allows me to help more people and, in the future, fix issues that may not have gotten reported otherwise. So I think adding it to Adrenaline is a good idea, as it doesn't affect the game anyway.

An important thing for modpack creators using Adrenaline to keep in mind: You will need to change Crash Assistant's config to use your branding and also update the CA modlist, or just remove the mod from your fork altogether if you don't want it.

Removed ThreadTweak

ThreadTweak is no longer shipped with Adrenaline/Additive. Read through issue #66 for the reasoning on this change. TLDR, we do not want to mess with thread priorities out of the box. ThreadTweak does not improve performance for the majority of players anyway.

  • Instructions will soon be added to the post-install page on the wiki about whether or not you should install ThreadTweak (or it's alternatives) for anyone who still needs it.
  • Typically, you should only need this mod if you are on a very slow CPU with a small amount of cores to reduce stuttering. Otherwise it can hurt performance!

Updated mods

This is just a quick patch that updates Sodium (along with Iris and Polytone). The new Sodium update fixes a few bugs on mc1.21.11 and also offers a small improvement in performance.

Mods in the pack have been updated to their latest versions.

Highlights

Bug fixes

  • Fast Noise update fixes an extremely rare parity issue with vanilla biome generation
  • Disabled ModernFix dynamic resources on mc1.21.10, as it broke item frame rendering. Other versions are not affected
    • If you are currently on mc1.21.10, after updating, you will need to go into your config folder, delete the ModernFix mixin config, and then relaunch
  • Removed YACL on versions where not necessary
