Steel Mayhem is a mod I made for an smp with my friends called "The Everchanging"

Currently this mod adds:

Spoiler
  • a new material: steel (used in most recipes)
  • 2 new sidegrades to netherite: Abyssal and Pale Paladin armor
  • 2 new weapons: Abyssal Blade (right click for speed 1) and Pale Mace (rightclick for resistance effect)

The rest of the items are only obtainable in creative:

  • Alh armor and weapon set: armor, greatsword, crimson claws, core of revival
  • Chaosteel armor set
  • Galaxite item set: armor, sword, apples
  • "Broken Bones" and "Bleeding" potion effects
  • "The Charter": a weapon based on the mod "Charter" from the CSMP. Naturally, when you use it to kill someone they die (get put in spectator) permanently
  • Black hole bomb (broken)
  • Holimyne armor set (very op)
  • secret boss (what could it be?)

Steel Mayhem: Crystals, Lightning and Inferno!

Reinforced Amethyst:

a new material crafted with 4 netherite scraps, 2 amethyst shards and 2 gold ingots

crafted with one ingot, one netherite upgrade template and netherite armor in a smithing table. RA armor has netherite stats (with 1 less armor toughness per piece) but the full set lets you accumulate damage and release it by doing a small explosion and releasing amethyst shards in all directions (1 damage = 1 shard, 20 shards max. each shard deals 2.5 damage, doesn’t ignore Iframes)

special weapon:

Crystal Khopesh:

8 damage 1.5 attack speed when right clicked, it makes a dash in the direction the player is looking, damaging everything in its path. hit entities explode and release amethyst shards. The shards don’t hurt the exploding entity. 15 second cooldown the dash has a similar effect like a riptide trident (like the overlay n’ stuff but amethyst lol)

crafting the weapon gives “amarite ahh sword” advancement

Infernal Netherite (reworked version):

a new metal craft from four netherite scrap, 3 gold and a demon tear

same stat as netherite but wearing armor reduce the fire damage by 25% and the full set make you immune to fire damage the sword has fire aura, however, its not an enchantement so you can still enchant it

demon tear :

the demon tear is a new item made from combining a nether star shard ( its the same thing as iron ingot and iron nuggets), a ghast tear and a lava bucket. it is only used for crafting

Auric Steel:

Auric Steel is a material crafted with steel blocks and gold blocks

crafting full set gives “elysium copycat” advancement

full armor set gives same stats as netherite but no knockback resistance

when in thunderstorms it will attract lightning and you will get hit by it. This will give you one charge for a 3 charge meter. Channeling also works. taking damage and dealing damage will charge up the meter by 5% or 10% respectively.

hitting an enemy will electrocute them and consume one charge. this can be turned on and off with a keybind(?) to preserve charges

“electrocution” is a new debuff applied to entities that are hit with one of the charges from the Auric Steel armor which will reduce movement speed and damage (10% and 5% respectively)

once you have 2 charges you can perform an attack that will summon lighting that will strike the entity you hit, giving it the electrocution debuff (lvl2, 20% less speed and 10% less damage)

using a trident with riptide while having at least 1 charge will consume that charge while it’s not raining

Steel Mayhem: Shades and Rogues!

Shade Master:

shademaster armor is a variant from void armor crafted with void silk, void crystals and netherite ingots. void silk is a new material found in ancient cities that is rarer than enchanted golden apples.

shademaster armor has same stats as diamond armor

crafting full set gives “Lord of Shades” advancement

shademaster armor will increase damage dealt by tamed mobs by 20%

reaching half a heart with shademaster armor will give you the “shaded” debuff for 10 seconds

special item: Shade Staff

summons a shade that will attack nearby players and mobs (players being a priority) with a 10 second cooldown

The shade has 10 hp, 4 armour and 8 attack damage.

the shade will despawn after 1 minute

second item: void pouch (if this is impossible/too hard it’s not necessary) allows to pick up tamed mobs

has a space for 20 entities

shift right click to put a tamed mob into the pouch, right click to the ground to place 1 entity, shift right click to place all of them

Pale Rogue:

pale rogue armor is a variant from pale paladin armor crafted with white jewels found in nether fortresses, quartz cores and netherite ingots

pale rogue armor has same stats as diamond armor

crafting full set gives “Disappointing vessel” advancement

increases the damage of all projectiles by 10% and gives + 4% movement speed (1% per piece)

special item: pale throwing knife

a throwing knife crafted with iron and pale jewels (16 per craft)

throwing knives can be spammed

throwing knives deal 4 damage

throwing knives ignore I-frames

Reworks:

Abyssteel -> “Void Steel”:

  • same stats as netherite but with no armor toughness

  • renamed to “void steel”, abyss flame renamed to “void crystal”, sword renamed to “abyssal blade” (item description: “can parry attacks with right click”)

  • void crystals will now be as rare as an enchanted golden apple

  • crafting full set gives “No mind to think” advancement

  • instead of giving permanent strength 1, it now makes it so that when you reach half a heart, you become a shade (shaded debuff) that is immune to damage, has extra speed (20%) and is invisible (but emits particles) for 5 seconds. Once the debuff ends you will take 10000 damage that CAN be survived with a totem. you cannot regenerate health while shaded

  • the sword will instead of giving you speed 1 for 30 seconds, will now be able to parry all incoming damage with right click (0.5 second window, 3 second cooldown)

  • when an attack is parried, the attacker receives 50% of the dealt damage

Pale Steel:

  • same stats as netherite, no changes

  • pale armor name changed to “Pale Paladin Armor”, quartz heart renamed to “Quartz core”

  • crafting full set gives “No cost too great” advancement

  • Instead of giving permanent resistance, it will now give you the buff “Fortification” when reaching 50% of max health, which will reduce incoming damage for 10% and increases damage dealt by 10%. Buff stays until health > 50% of max health.

  • pale mace will be removed :pensive_emoji:
