MultiView

MultiView is a Fabric addon for Flashback. It takes multiple replays recorded by different players from the same Minecraft session and merges them into a single unified replay containing the union of all observed data.

The result behaves as if an omniscient observer with unlimited render distance had recorded the session:

  • All chunks explored by at least one player are loaded
  • All recording players are visible simultaneously
  • All entities and events observed from any POV are present
  • Free camera to explore freely, Spectate Player to follow a specific recorder

✨ Features

  • Merge N replays via an integrated interface in Flashback (checkbox per replay, Merge button)
  • Automatic tick-perfect time alignment (via ClientboundSetTimePacket)
  • Chunks from all explored areas included in the merged replay
  • All recording players visible at the same time
  • Aggregated markers (Changed Dimension, etc.)
  • Complete player list in Spectate
  • Progress screen with bar and phase text
  • Atomic rollback if a merge fails
  • Available in French and English
  • Does not redistribute any Flashback code (legally clean)

🎯 Target Audience

  • Content creators: PvP events, SMP multiplayer, tournaments, machinima
  • Server staff: multi-angle anti-cheat review
  • Cinematographers: free camera in multiplayer scenes without data loss

📋 Usage

  1. Each player records their POV using Flashback.
  2. Collect the generated .zip files and place them in .minecraft/flashback/replays/.
  3. Launch Minecraft with Flashback + MultiView installed.
  4. Click the camera icon → Select Replay.
  5. Check the boxes on the right of each replay (minimum 2).
  6. Click Merge N Replays (top right).
  7. Wait for the merge to complete.
  8. The merged replay appears automatically → open it like a normal replay.

⚠️ Known Limitations

  • Secondary POVs: appear as player entities. The camera follows the POV that started recording first (the “primary”).
  • Merging 4+ POVs: works but may have minor visual imperfections.
  • Multiple dimensions: the camera follows the primary’s dimension changes.

🔧 Requirements

  • Minecraft 1.21.11
  • Fabric Loader 0.19.2+
  • Fabric API 0.141.3+1.21.11
  • Flashback 0.39.4
