  • CliffTree now has native compatibility with Tectonic 3.0 if you're using their respective mod versions!

Other Changes

  • Regular hostile mobs can now spawn in Stone Oceans, allowing mob farms built on top of it to work
  • Slightly increased how common Striped Wolves are in Wooded and Coniferous Badlands
  • Glacier Valleys are now a mix of Snow Blocks and 1 block deep Powder Snow to ease traversal issues. Further tweaks for this biome are planned in the future
  • Various CliffTree biomes now make use of common tags found in modloaders with hopes of improving compatibility

CliffTree 2.1.1

Minor update with slight tweaks and an incompatibility fix!

  • Updated feature order cycles to match changes in vanilla 1.21.5, this should prevent crashes with worldgen mods if they are compatible

  • Removed snowflake particles from all biomes except Frozen Caves

    • This decision was made for the sake of immersion, as snowflake particles were able to spawn where it wouldn't logically snow such as indoors or underwater
    • They are kept for Frozen Caves as they fit the biome's vision as a frosted cavern covered in ice dust
  • Glacier Valleys are now grouped with Snowy Slopes for the "Adventuring Time" advancement, only discovering one of either is required

    • CliffTree already handles many biomes in groups for the sake of this advancement
    • A rework of Glacier Valleys might be planned for the future to make it more engaging

This is planned to be the last version to support 1.21.4, and future versions will revolve around the additions introduced by the "Spring to Life" drop

Additions and Changes

  • Tall, pillar-like formations can now rarely generate inside mountain rings
  • Split Wooded Badlands into two biomes, the vanilla Wooded Badlands and CliffTree's Coniferous Badlands which features a mix of oak and spruce trees. Coniferous Badlands are identical to Wooded Badlands present in previous versions of CliffTree
  • "Temperate Beach" has been replaced by Tropical Beach, which features jungle trees and small patches of grass blocks. The former biome will remain in the files for compatibility purposes in a deprecated folder
  • Readjusted farm animal distribution in preparation for "Spring to Life"
  • Readjusted biome distribution, again
  • Fixed a vanilla oversight where underground lava lakes below Y=0 generate stone instead of deepslate
  • Fixed snow layers generating inside of village houses

CliffTree 2.1 - Spring to Life

The first release for 1.21.5, the recent drop has benefitted CliffTree greatly, with new features that complement the pack's vision!

Features

  • Included everything introduced in the Spring to Life drop, such as bushes, dry grass, cactus flowers, leaf litter, wildflowers, etc.
  • Short grass no longer generates on beaches, now replaced with short and tall dry grass. The grass color of beach and shore biomes have also been adjusted to be green thanks to this change.
  • Oasis cacti no longer have a chance to generate pink petals, since the cactus flower fills this niche more organically
  • Integrated new farm animal variants to CliffTree biomes
  • Leaf litter amount in forests is slightly reduced compared to vanilla
  • Windswept forests and pale gardens now also generate with leaf litter
  • Fallen trees have been updated to match vanilla's new implementation
  • Mushrooms and moss carpets no longer generate on non-fallen tree logs such as village roofs, in order to not be invasive to packs that add other structures

This version now supports 1.21 to 1.21.4

  • Pale Gardens will only generate in 1.21.4
  • River caves should generate in all supported versions

CliffTree 2.0: The Garden Awakens!

With the new drop, CliffTree enters version 2.0, featuring a tweaked Pale Garden and new river caves!

Pale Garden

  • Slightly more common and can generate on lower levels
  • Gave Pale Oak trees a more unique leaf shape compared to Dark Oak, with leaves that hang down slightly
  • Rebalanced hostile mob spawns in the Pale Garden to reduce the amount of distractions, letting you focus more on fending off the Creakings, which spawn slightly more frequently.
  • Made Oak trees uncommonly generate in the biome

River Caves

  • Rivers can now carve through valleys, creating underground rivers that go through terrain!
  • Special thanks to Apollo for letting us reference their underground river code

Additionally, biome distribution has been slightly readjusted

IMPORTANT

  • This update cuts support for 1.20.5 to 1.21.1, we took this decision to not bloat more the datapack with overlays
  • This update does not support the Winter Drop experiments, as the Pale Garden is still undergoing development

  • New moss spreading!!
    • Moss can now grow in the walls and the ceiling
    • Moss can now grow cave vines, vines and spore blossoms
