Changed

  • overhauled enchanting table calculations and balancing
    • this change is actually so large that i can't really go into detail here
    • re-enchanting is infinitely better, and finds you upgrades to existing enchantments or even blessings when applicable, rather than hard-stopping once you had a certain amount of enchantments
    • added a reroll mechanic in the event no enchantments are found
    • enchantment costs are now more expensive / dynamic to accomodate the table being far more capable
    • a new second panel has been added explaining more mechanics, and the game now remembers whether you last had a panel open or not properly
  • new anvil formula and balancing
    • experience costs to combine enchanted items are far more reasonable
    • books no longer have durability - use chiseled enchanting for renewable treasure enchantments instead
  • grindstones now remove blessings / curses in the same step as everything else
  • chiseled enchanting
    • chiseled bookshelves with books count towards enchanting power
    • enchanted books provide a very small amount of their enchantments' attributes
    • placing treasure enchantments in a bookshelf allows it to appear in its attribute pool from the table - meaning treasure enchantments now work with EaE's enchanting table overhaul!
  • enchantment slot overhaul
    • rather than being a universal cap, different items have different caps under the new variable slot system
    • powerful enchantments use 2 slots
    • you can configure the slots used by any item incredibly easily in the config
    • the used slots appear on item tooltips
  • all enchantments and tooltips now use unique symbols to represent key information, such as attribute category, blessing, curse, powerful generic and treasure
  • any of your 3 altars can now be replaced by additional bookshelves if you wish
  • Blessing of Tempering now works on all items, including held and dropped items
  • misc loot table tweaks
  • lowered the weight of Unbreaking
  • slightly nerfed Thorns
  • made Bloodlust a Chaos enchantment
  • much more, but I really did too much this update to detail here lol, especially on fundamental system improvements / overhauls

  • now depends on Unified API

Removed

  • Entropy (replaced by Critical Strike)

Config

  • added new item_enchantment_slots list, which allows you to customise the slots on any vanilla or modded item with ease
  • disabled enchantments can now be configured right in the config via a new list, with the old tag being used by default
  • added and changed options for new systems - including panel visibility, slot tooltips, enchantment symbols, powerful enchantments and more!
